1Soak the chana dal for ⏱️ 1-2 hours , then drain and rinse.chana dal: 1 c

2Press the sauté button on the pot and add ghee or oil . Allow it to heat up for about 1 minute.ghee or oil: 1 tbsp

3Add cumin seeds and serrano pepper to the pot. Once the cumin seeds begin to brown, add water , frozen onion masala , salt , garam masala , black pepper , and cayenne or red chili powder to the pot.cumin seeds: 1 tsp, serrano pepper: 1 (slit in half but still intact), water: 2 ½ cups, frozen onion masala: ½ cup, salt, garam masala: ¼ tsp, black pepper: ⅛ tsp, cayenne or red chili powder: ⅛ tsp (to taste)

4Secure the lid, close the pressure valve, and cook for ⏱️ 12 minutes at high pressure.

5Naturally release pressure or wait ⏱️ 15 minutes , then release pressure.

6Adjust salt to taste and add more water if you’d like a thinner dal.salt, water
